Indistinct rings (polarized light), diffuse porous, vessels in long radial rows, simple perforation, vessel perforation opposite and gash-like, vessel diameter in earlywood 30µm, fiber pits minutely bordered, fibers thick-walled, apotracheal parenchyma, ray width 1-8, often confluent to fiber tissue, all ray cells upright. with prismatic crystals.

With sieve cell groups outside of vessel/fiber strips. Old sieve cells not collapsed, groups of sclereids in cortex. Prismatic crystals present.
