Xylem

Indistinct rings, very large solitary vessels and small vessles in groups, simple perforations, large vessel diameter 200-350µm, small vessels 40-50 µm round intervessel-pits, thick-walled fibers in groups, parenchyma apotracheal and paratracheal (bands around fiber groups), ray width 3-5 in width and very high. Heterocellular with many square and upright cells. With included phloem (Caryophyllaceae-type). With many prismatic crystals.

With ray dilatations, with tangential bands of collapsed sieve tubes, sclereids in irregular round spots. With a few prismatic crystals.
