Distinct rings, ring porous, vessels 60-100 µm in diameter, vessels radial solitary, simple perforations, vessels thick-walled, pits scalariform or round in opposite position, fibers thin-to thick-walled with small pits, fibers in small groups, , parenchyma pervasive, rays absent, included sieve-tubes and included layers of periderm, consisting on one layer of phelloderm and a few layers of phellem (cork). With many muscilage ducts containing slime and raphides.
