Distinct rings, diffuse-porous, vessels solitary vessel diameter 30-50µm vessel frequency 200-300 mm2, simple perforations, fibers thick-walled, with large pits, parenchyma apotracheal and scanty paratracheal, rays 1-3 seriate, heterocellular with central prostrate and many marginal square or upright cells, many large prismatic crystals in ray cells.
