Xylem

Indistinct annual rings, vessels in short radial groups. earlywood vessel diameter 100 – 180 mm, vessel frequency 30-50 mm2, simple perforations. Fibers thin-to thick-walled, with small pits, with septate fibers, scanty paratracheal parenchyma, ray width 1-(2) cells, rays heterocellular with 1-2 upright marginal cells, with prismatic crystals in ray cells, with large oil ducts in rays.
