Xylem

Distinct rings, semi-ring porous, vessels solitary, simple perforation, vessel diameter in earlywood 40 - 60µm, fibers distinctly bordered, apotracheal parenchyma, ray width 1-3 cells, all ray cells upright, some few rays are heterocellular.

Phloem

With sieve cell groups in tangential rows. Old sieve cells not collapsed, distinct ray dilatations, groups of sclereids in cortex. Prismatic crystals present.
