Xylem

Distinct rings, semi-ring porous, vessels solitary, simple perforations, vessel diameter in earlywood 20 - 40µm, fibers distinctly bordered, apotracheal and marginal parenchyma, ray width 3-7 cells, all ray cells upright, unlignified at the ring boundaries.

Phloem

With sieve cell groups. Old sieve cells not collapsed, distinct ray dilatations, groups of sclereids in cortex. Crystals absent.
