Welcome to forestlife, a multilingual dictionary of selected forest insects, fungi and wildlife, with emphasis on species occurring in Western and Central European regions.

As of January 2007, this resource contained the English, German, French and/or Italian names of 1,072 taxa, compiled from selected sources within and outside our institute. It is by no means exhaustive but will be updated. The taxonomy adopted in this database reflects the current usage at our institute and does not pretend to be normative.
