Instrumentation at the Illgraben. (Spring 2008), for the WSL debris flow observation station. The community warning system (not shown here) is independently operated but the design was based on the WSL’s experience.

Installation of the force plate. Dec. 2003. The frame is 4m wide, 2m long (in the flow direction) and is covered with a 15mm thick steel plate. Laser and radar sensors are on the bridge above the plate. The inset picture shows the fluid pore pressure sensor which is located approx. under the middle of the force plate.
