Public Transportation

Public transportation tickets in Zurich, are valid for bus, tram, ship and train in the zones, for which you buy one.

You simply have to decide on the zone you want to travel in.

To reach WSL from downtown Zurich, you need a ticket for the zones 10 (City of Zurich - counts double!) and 54 (see zone map).

Depending on how long you stay, it might be a good idea to buy a Zurich Card for 72 hours - especially, if your hotel is located in Zurich. Also day-passes for 24 hours are available.

If you buy such a ticket at the airport, you can simply buy an additional connecting ticket for zone 21 to get from the airport to the City Center. But you can of course also buy a one-way ticket from the airport to whereever your hotel is - and buy a Zurich Card for the next day onwards.

We suggest buying a ticket from a ticket counter - at the airport, it will be the SBB counter, i.e., where they also sell train tickets.
