NRP61-thematic synthesis "basics"

NFP61-Thematische Synthesen
How will future water resources and the related services change?

What water resources do we have in Switzerland and how are we using them? With which societal and climatic changes do we need to cope with in future? What are the implications of those anticipated changes for tomorrow’s water availability and the related services?

The above questions are of high societal relevance. Between 2012-14, numerous projects of the National Research Programme 61: “Sustainable Water Management” and other recent research on water resources have addressed those questions. The thematic synthesis “Basics” compiles the state-of-the-art knowledge on the current and future water availability and the related services for experts, decision-makers and the broader public. The 40-pages report presents facts and outlines possible developments for water resource management in Switzerland. In addition, a scientific article in print media is anticipated to reach the interested public.

The NRP61-Thematic Synthesis “Basics” is coordinated by the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape (WSL) and elaborated in close collaboration with the writers of the other thematic syntheses and researchers involved in NRP61 projects.
