LFI: Resource Analysis

Timber is one of the few renewable resources in Switzerland. Moreover forests and soils are important carbon sinks. The aim of the project "resource analysis" is modelling forest development with different utilisation strategies in terms of biomass and timber assortment. Long-term forecasts are made based on data from the National Forest Inventory as well as the commercial availability of timber resources is determined.
