Detailed Information

The organizers are looking forward to seeing you at the fieldweek very soon. Below is some information to help you make plans for arriving in Engelberg.

Travel:

Engelberg is about a 2 hour trip from Zurich. Online timetables can be found at www.sbb.ch/en/ and entering “Engelberg“ as a destination.

The cost of a round-trip ticket from and to Zurich should be about 50€. A sample itinerary is below. Our accommodation place is the “Holday house Espen” 800 m west of the railway station.

We hope that everyone will be able to make it to Engelberg by Monday noon. Otherwise, there might be a possibility  to stay in Engelberg on Sunday night the 11th for those who arrive earlier (we’ll update you on this). If your schedule does not allow you to arrive by Monday afternoon or for any other concerns, please send Kerstin Treydte an e-mail (kerstin.treydte@wsl.ch).

Should you have troubles or delays while traveling to Engelberg, try to reach us by phone. If calling within Switzerland use the zero without the 41, and if calling from outside of Switzerland use the 41 without the zero.
