Forest Ecosystems and Ecological Risks |
|
The section Forest Ecosystems and Ecological
Risks investigates the long-term effects of natural and anthropogenic
stresses on forests and the resulting risks for humans. By
analysing data from a network of selected study sites, we
monitor the long-term response of forest ecosystems to the
most relevant stress factors. Our particular emphasis is on
atmospheric deposition, the biogeochemical cycle, the climate,
the soil, the ground vegetation and trees.
The section Forest Ecosystems and Ecological
Risks is responsible for the Swiss contribution to the International
Co-operative Programme on Assessment and Monitoring of Air
Pollution Effects on Forests (ICP
Forests).
