Long-term ecosystem research for future generations
How do man-made and natural stressors affect forests in the long term? Which risks result for the society? Since 1994 the Swiss Federal Research Institute WSL has addressed these questions on 18 sites representative of the Swiss forest ecosystems. Early September 2009 a series of events marked 15 years of Long-term Forest Ecosystem Research (LWF) and put the current state of knowledge into perspective. |
