Research interests

Statistical Theory & Methods: nonparametric curve estimation, integral transforms, goodness-of-fit tests, time series, spatial processes, nonstationary & locally stationary processes, irregularly spaced data, ratio of means estimation, statistical applications of large deviations

Some examples of applications: change points (e.g. rapid climate change research), age-depth relations (palaeo environmental research), inference for regime change & multivariate dependence (e.g. palaeo ecology), species-area relations (spatial ecology), statistical issues in large scale environmental monitoring, extreme quantiles & related inference (quantification of risk), data mining (e.g. analysis of massive space-time data sets; applied multivariate statistical analysis for large vegetation databases)

S-plus codes for T₃-plots: write to rita.ghosh@wsl.ch

T₃-plots are used for graphical testing of univariate normality and for comparing two distributions using the sample moment generating function.
