Dr. Katherine Colby Leonard - Personal Homepage
I am a glaciologist with a current focus on the redistribution of snow by the wind, particularly its influence on the perceived mass balance of the Antarctic ice sheet. My work with the SLF wind tunnel group addresses the basic physics of snow transport by the wind, particularly with regard to fine-scale erosion, deposition, and redistribution processes. I hold an appointment at the University of Colorado in Boulder's Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences (CIRES), and am a member of the new "CRYOS" research group at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
