Born in 1962. Studies of environmental engineering at the Swiss Federal Institut of Technology Zurich (ETH), 1991 PhD. 1991-1994 scientific collaborator at the Office of Soil Protection of the canton of Zurich. 1995-2001 senior assistant at the Institute of Land Improvement and Water Management at ETH-Zurich. Since July 2001 head of the research focus 'Land Resources Management in Peri-Urban Environments' at the Federal Research Institute WSL.
