Contribution of Switzerland to ICP-Forests

Switzerland ratified the UN-ECE Convention on Long Range Transboundary Air Pollution (LRTAP, or Geneva Convention) and joined the International Co-operation Programme on Assessment and Monitoring of Air Pollution Effects on Forests (ICP-Forests).

The Sanasilva plots are part level I network of ICP Forests (several thousand plots in Europe on a 16x16 km grid) and the LWF plots are part of the Level II network of ICP-Forests (several hundred selected plots in Europe) and fullfill the requirement of the ICP-Forests Manual.
