Bioclimatic Maps of Switzerland

In the course of developing predictive vegetation models and risk assessment tools we generated a number of spatially explicit bioclimatic maps on a 50 m or 25 m grid (i.e., long-term means of monthly temperature and precipitation, degree days, radiation, cloudiness, water budget etc.). All maps are based on long-term measurements of climate stations and are generally valid for the post-1960 period. Spatialization of the data was done using a spline algorithm and a digital terrain model. Selected maps in a 1 km grid will shortly be available as ASCII files. Due to copyright reasons the coefficients of the algorithm cannot be delivered, thus it is not possible to deduct either the original data of the meteorological stations or the digital terrain model. More detailed maps are available on request.
