Express Guide: TOPOSKOP in Three Steps
To run the programme and open the demonstration example, drag the
'SampleMap' icon over the 'TOPOSKOP' icon. You get a legend window and a
map window on your screen.
Step 1 -
Manipulating the Map
On the map you can zoom in and out using the appropriate tools (selected
in the 'Werkz.' menu and indicated by the shape of the cursor) or
change the scale of the map (using the 'Karte' menu).
Step 2 - Layers
in the Legend
In the legend you can shift the covers around (by dragging or using the
'Layer' menu) and change the style of a selected cover (using the 'Stil'
menu).
Step 3 - Discover
the Object Data
In the 'Extra' menu you can select the 'Minidataskop'. When you click on
an object with the info tool (menu 'Werkz.'), the Minidataskop window
displays the inventory identification and the object number.
Feel Free to Fool Around
The sample covers are there for you to find out how TOPOSKOP works and
what you can do with it.
For serious work you would need the full covers and all the HyperCard
stacks which make up the DATASKOP.
The Standard Version with All Covers and Stacks
The covers BogSample, FenSample, FloodSample and MireSample are excerpts
from the original covers that come with the TOPOSKOP standard version.
The cover LocationSample is a selection of fragments from an extra cover
called 'BRP Hintergrund' which is not freely available. (A license for it
can be obtained from the Bundesamt für Landestopographie. The price
is SFr. 520.--)
A complete description of TOPOSKOP in the form of two WORD files is
delivered along with the standard TOPOSKOP version.
