The insights from WSL research are passed on to both university students and professional people in courses of various types. WSL researchers are involved in a wide range of teaching activities. WSL is committed to transferring knowledge to the professional community, who apply scientific results, as well as to teaching in the academic world.
95 WSL researchers taught a total of 3411 teaching units at various universities, 57% of these in the ETH domain. 134 bachelor, master and diploma theses along with 129 phd theses were tutored by WSL people. 24 phds were obtained in 2009 for work done at WSL.
The Golden Owl award of the union of ETH students (Verband der Studierenden an der ETH) for 2009 was given to Felix Kienast. The award is for ETH teachers who made a continuous and outstanding effort for their courses and their students. (> winners 2009)
