Topics
The overall purpose of the conference is to provide an opportunity for constructive discussions related (but not necessarily limited) to the following topics:
- Visitor information and visitor management
- Visitor monitoring methods, modeling and data management
- Economic and social effects of recreation and nature tourism
- Visitor/user conflicts and other behavior studies
- Sustainability and carrying capacity studies in recreational settings
- Recreational impacts on park ecosystems
- Nature tourism: concepts and experiences in recreational and protected areas
Symposia (subject to alterations)

Besides, further sessions for oral and poster presentations will be organized with regard to the submitted abstracts and the conference topics.
For the more practice oriented audience the SANU holds within the scope of MMV3 the seminar
'Besucherlenkung in nationalen Pärken' (Management of Visitor Flows in National Parks). This seminar is held in German.
Convening a symposium:
From Wednesday to Friday (Sept. 13th to 15th) three parallel sessions will take place.
It will be the responsibility of the session conveners to find presenters with according topics. Nevertheless, the organizers will decide on the final presentations and appropriate arrangement into the different sessions. The length of these sessions will vary according to the number of contributions. The range should generally lie between 2 and 4 hours.
