Cities and urban regions are among the most dynamic land use systems in the world, with dramatic consequences for the provision of ecosystem services and people's livelihoods. Planning is a multifaceted activity with extensive experience in managing these urbanisation processes. However, our understanding of planning's contribution to shaping urban land use, form and structure is still incomplete, with serious implications for the effectiveness of urban planning and land change models.
This international conference brought together the community of scholars in the field to enjoy and discuss four outstanding keynote presentations, 35 inspiring presentations in parallel sessions, engaging thematic discussions and an exciting closing panel discussion. With 130 registered participants from 28 countries, we connected a community around the globe and thoroughly enjoyed the lively discussions and online interactions.
We thank you for your participation.
