Distinct rings, ring porous, often >200 µm in diameter, latewood vessels in diagonal patterns, simple perforations, thin-walled tylosis, fibers thin to thick-walled, parenchyma rare apotracheal and paratracheal, rays homocellular, uniseriate with prismatic crystals in ray cells
Tangential layers of small sieve cells and big, round, parenchyma cells, sieve cells collapse in the second year, sclereids in tangential bands, a few prismatic crystals around the sclerencymatic parts..
