Indistinct rings, diffuse porous, vessels solitary, often with slightly angular circumference, scalariform perforations with >10bars, intervessel pits round and scalariform (gash-like), fibers thin to thick-walled, with distinctly bordered, round pits, parenchyma frequent, uniseriate tangential rows, rays uniseriate and biseriate, heterocellular with 1-3 square or upright cells or homocellular. With big prismatic crystals.

Phloem with sieve cells, sclerenchyma in tangential bands. Cortex with a continuous band of sclerenchyma. With big prismatic crystals.
