Xylem

Stem mostly fluted. Parts of the stem get laterally isolated and form a radial oriented strip. Distinct and indistinct rings, remaining vascular bundles, semi-ring porous and diffuse porous, vessels solitary and in small groups, vessels thick walled with round intervessel pits, vessel diameter 30-50 µm, simple perforations, fibers absent, parenchyma pervasive, Rays absent inside vascular bundles, between them very large rays with thin-walled, unlignified cell walls.

Phloem

With sieve-cell groups, mostly in tangential rows. Few cornels of crystal sand.
