Xylem

Conifer like wood but with large rays. Growth zones absent, vessels absent, tracheids with big round bordered pits (5-7 µm), arranged predominantly biseriate. Parenchyma apotracheal, diffuse. Rays are uniseriate and multiseriate (3 to 4 cells in width), heterocellular with 1 to 3 square and upright marginal cells or homocellular wit uniquely sqare and upright cells, With sheet cells. Pits in marginal ray cells are mostly arranged in axial rows. Ray-pits piceoid (bordered with slit-like apertures). Ray-cells thick-walled.
