Effects of intercultural gardens on integration and restoration

Intercultural gardens are community gardens with the aim to integrate different kinds of groups of the society. One of the first intercultural garden projects in Switzerland has been established in Zürich as temporary use of fallow land. This project has been evaluated by the Siwss federal Institute WSL. In 2009 social, intercultural and restorative aspects of the project have been analysed by administering a standardised questionnaire to the participants of the project. A second questionnaire focussing on the long term effect has been administered in 2010.
