Net Ecosystem Productivity - NEPSRI
NEPSRI – the project Net Ecosystem Productivity (NEP) of forests calculated from Tree Stem Radius Increments (SRI) aims to predict carbon sink rates of forests.

Point dendrometer-based SRI data are collected within the project TreeNet and used to estimate NEP. The estimation is performed in near-real-time on the TreeNet processing platform (TreeNet_Pro) and needs temporally highly resolved SRI data and a site-specific leaf area index as input. The underlying processing routines were developed by Häni et al (in preparation) and have the potential to significantly improve the estimation of NEP of forest ecosystems independent of eddy covariance-based NEP measurements.
