OakID2

OakID2 is a co-operation of the two EVOLTREE partners WSL and INRA Pierroton (Antoine Kremer). We will apply species-diagnostic markers for White oak species (Q. petraea/pubescens/robur/pyrenaica) developed in the two labs, based on different genomic backgrounds, to a) perform a cross-validation of the diagnostic markers sets in the other (complementary) reference sample set, b) expand the test dataset to other major European white oak species (Q. frainetto/canariensis/faginea), c) spatially expand the test dataset of the seven species to assess relatedness and admixture, and d) provide an operational easy-to-use SNP assay for species assignment in European oak genetic resources.
