Physical protection of forest soils

After the hurricane "Lothar" from 1999, the need of soil protection at wood harvesting operations became obviously. The aims of the project were to show the consequences of soil compaction on soil fertility, to define different types of tracks, to present technical and organizational measures and to put the results into practice.
