Cross-section round. Outline wavy. Culm center filled. Recognizable epidermis cells. Large vascular bundles in 2-3 rows. Sclerenchymatic sheath around vascular bundles with ≥4 cells. Chlorenchyma absent.

Outline wavy. Upper epidermis cells in several rows. Vascular bundles centered between the upper and lower side of the leaf. Girders extending from the vascular bundle to both sides of the leaf.
