The European Alps offer unique natural and cultural landscapes that provide many ecosystem services. However, due to sociodemographic and economic constraints, agriculture and forestry have massively abandoned formerly managed land. In addition, climate change is having a particularly strong impact on the Alps.This talk will illustrate the effects of global change on the cultural landscape of the Alps and its ecosystem services.
