Experimental Forest Management archiving project (EFM-archive)

Growth and yield data have played a major role in forest science for more than a century, and despite the ever changing ideas and questions, it is likely to retain this role. These data are not only critical for EFM projects but also many others within WSL relating to modelling, remote sensing, soils, forest functioning and climate change, and for our international collaborators. The EFM archive contains up to 3 Mio pages of documents going back to 1886, in paper form. These contain a wealth of meta-data that is critical for current and planned projects, and collaborations. This project will digitise these data so that they are readily available, searchable and accessible for research, while also safeguarding it before the paper decays.
