WSL professors and lecturers give university lectures at ETH Zurich and other universities. WSL also supervises bachelor, master and doctoral theses and offers internships for students and graduates.
WSL lectures and courses complement university teaching, covering topics in which WSL has special expertise. In 2022, around 140 WSL staff gave a total of 3381 hours of lectures at the two Swiss federal universities, at cantonal universities, at Swiss universities of applied sciences and at tertiary-level institutions abroad. The largest proportion (around 75 %) was given at both Federal Institutes of Technology, especially at ETH Zurich. The lectures and courses of WSL lecturers are administered by the universities and are listed in the respective course catalogues.
At the end of 2022, WSL had a total of 30 professors at various universities in Switzerland and abroad. In addition to giving university lectures, WSL organised or co-organised several practical continuing training courses, summer and winter schools and a number of events. WSL also supervises theses for bachelor's and master's' degrees and doctoral students. In 2022, WSL researchers supervised 178 doctoral students and 178 theses for bachelor's or master's degrees.
