Call for abstracts ¶
The 2nd ETH Domain Conference ‘Environmental Social Sciences’ will take place on Monday, 1 February 2027, at WSL. The one-day conference provides a unique platform to foster exchange among social scientists working on environmental and related topics. It is a great opportunity to discuss and get feedback on current work and to network with colleagues from other institutes and departments of the ETH Domain. This event is a follow-up event to the ETH Domain Conference on ‘Social Sciences on Environment, Technology & Sustainability’ which took place at Eawag on 27 January 2025.
The one-day conference will include classic sessions for presenting research and sharing experiences as well as some more experimental open format sessions. Of course, there will be coffee breaks, lunch, and an Apéro to end the day together.
Parallel conference sessions will be organized around broad themes (climate, biodiversity, forests, landscape, energy, resources, cities, etc.), disciplinary profiles, and cross-cutting themes (teaching, outreach, transdisciplinarity, etc.). There will also be a poster session, and you are welcome to bring along and reuse posters that you have already displayed at another event. A more detailed program will follow.
With this call, we invite you to submit a short abstract (max. 250 words, text only) about your research and other activities that you feel would be of interest to the audience at this conference and register for the conference. We plan to accept all submitted contributions. The goal is to showcase your work and create an open platform for exchange. Participation is free of charge. Participation without a presentation is also possible.
Please register / submit your abstract here.
Deadline for registration / submitting abstracts: 30 October 2026.
