Examples of species studied in terms of nature conservation genetics: grayling, common pond mussel, alpine manakin, dice snake, tree frog, valerian fritillary and sheath cottongrass (photos Jakob Brodersen, Julie Conrads, Beat Bäumler, Felix Gugerli, Martin C. Fischer).

With this course, participants will be able to expand or update their knowledge of the basics of applied conservation genetics. The aim is to close knowledge gaps, learn about potential and limitations, avoid misunderstandings and lay the foundation for future Swiss conservation genetics projects.

The course is divided into three parts: short and basic lectures, case studies and practical examples in small and interactive groups.

The lectures will be given in German and French by researchers from Eawag, ETH and WSL as well as invited guest speakers.

This course is organized with the financial support of the WSL Biodiversity Centre and is therefore free of charge.
