Small4Good: Sustainable multifunctional management by small forest owners in support of bioeconomy, biodiversity and climate ¶
The scope of the Small4Good (S4G) project aims to improve biodiversity and the provision of ecosystem services from Europe's forests through active and multifunctional management from motivated small private forests owners. Through participatory co-design processes in four European Living Labs, local management concepts are developed that are in line with the overarching objectives of the EU Forest Strategy. Engagement in multifunctional management will be enabled through tailor-made carbon farming and payments for ecosystem services programs specifically designed for small private forest owners. Further support is delivered by and supported by AI, digital and technical solutions. The aim is to motivate small private forest owners to engage in active forest management and to create better support for their management decisions.
