Dr. Sabine Franziska Fink

Main research interests: Spatial ecology, spatial modelling, species distribution and connectivity, population genetics, riparian ecology, conservation ecology

Current position: Since 2014, I am a scientific staff member and work in the interdisciplinary project “River engineering and Ecology”, which provides scientific background for the revitalization of approximately 4'000 km of Swiss rivers coordinated by the Federal Office for the Environment (for information see www.rivermanagement.ch). My work focuses on ecological habitat modelling and simulations of dispersal of non-mobile organisms inhabiting riparian areas along rivers (plants, fungi, lichens, animals).

Hauptinteresse: Räumliche Ökologie, Räumliche Modellierung, Artenausbreitung und Vernetzung, Populationsgenetik, Auenökologie, Naturschutzbiologie

Aktuelles Betätigungsfeld: Seit 2014 bin ich wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin und  arbeite beim interdisziplinären Programm „Wasserbau und Ökologie“, welches die vom Bundesamt für Umwelt geplanten Aufwertungen von ca. 4‘000 km Fliessgewässer mit Forschungsprojekten begleitet (Informationen unter www.rivermanagement.ch). Meine Arbeit umfasst ökologische Lebensraummodellierungen und Simulationen der Ausbreitung von wenig mobilen Organismen die in typischen Auenhabitaten vorkommen (Pflanzen, Pilze, Flechten, Tiere).
