Dr. Yohana Gisell Jimenez

Yohana’s research interests focus on functional forest ecology and socio-ecosystem science. She studies the socio-economic drivers of reforestation in Latin America and how different reforestation pathways and typologies shape ecosystem services. She also investigates forest functioning at a global scale, using plant functional traits to define functional units (biomes) and to assess forest resilience to climate change and human pressures such as fragmentation and land-use change.
