Regional Economics and Development

Regions, cities and municipalities are constantly undergoing change - either for their own development interests or because they are affected by global socio-economic or ecological processes (e.g. demographic change, climate change) that require adaptation. We are interested in how and by whom these transformation processes are influenced and shaped. It is our aim to better understand and explain the governance of social transformation processes.

We engage in research that is practice-oriented and focused on current social issues. We are experienced in conducting inter- and transdisciplinary, applied and conceptual research projects. We combine various empirical social science methods and are preferably working with case studies.
