Cooperation FinancingForest soils perform various functions such as nutrient provision, carbon storage, and water filtration, which are essential to overall ecosystem functioning, especially in light of climate change. Assessing soil functions relies on field investigations complemented by Digital Soil Mapping (DSM) approaches to provide meaningful soil information across scales. This project leverages the extensive Swiss forest soil database hosted by WSL to investigate changes in soil functions across time and space. The goal of this work is to provide valuable soil function information such as nutrient status to researchers, regulators, and practitioners.
