to the TreeFunAZ project! Ever is researching the diversity and spread of fungi and oomycetes in Azerbaijan's forest ecosystems and urban areas in collaboration with the Botanical Institute in Baku. Forest ecosystems around the world are increasingly threatened by invasive pests. Azerbaijan is strategically located between Europe and Asia. The country's current increased international connection to European trade activities also brings with it the spread of forest pathogens, to which we must be prepared.

At the beginning of June, Lenin started his PostDoc position, where he will work on the FORSAID project. The aim of his project is to develop molecular methods to identify various pathogens or insects from environmental samples from rainwater that has been in contact with them.

In his first week, Lenin directly introduced himself to his peers in the FORSAID project and related Horizon projects STELLA and CERBERUS by participating in the CFS Young Scientists meeting. We wish you a good start of your project and some exciting findings!
