Future of the Protection Forests in Ticino: Explorative visits of the experimental plantations of various tree species in Novaggio (ForeNOV)

The WSL established in Copera in the 1950ties and the ETH in Novaggio in the 1970 experimental tree plantations. The main aim is the gain of knowledge on the behavior of multiple native and non-native tree species for the current and future climatic condition in the Southern Alps. 

The current project will (1) explore the available documentations of the plantations and (2) characterize the tree stands with tree surveys on selected sample areas within part of the plots in Novaggio and (3) assess the results in comparision to available information for Copara. 

The project has limited work load ressources.
