BIOREFOREST represents a pioneering initiative combining participatory research, state-of-the-art AI technologies, and extensive stakeholder engagement to address the urgent need for sustainable reforestation strategies across Europe. By integrating diverse knowledge systems and using a combination of data-driven analysis, participatory approaches, and socio-economic evaluations, the project offers actionable solutions to enhance biodiversity and ecosystem resilience. Ultimately, BIOREFOREST seeks to empower policymakers, land managers, and local communities to make informed decisions that align with EU conservation and restoration goals (EU Commission 2020).
