Urban landowners' preferences for multifunctional nature-based solutions: A choice experiment on policy instruments and measures for fostering biodiversity in cities
2027 - 2029
Kooperation FinanzierungUrbChoi investigates how multifunctional nature-based solutions (NbS) can be implemented on privately owned and managed urban land in Winterthur, Fribourg and Sion. Although these cities promote biodiversity, climate adaptation, urban greening and blue-green infrastructure, implementation often depends on private and institutional landowners. The project combines an NbS-policy inventory, a stated-preference choice experiment, and pluralistic backcasting. It will identify relevant NbS measures and policy instruments across the three cities and examine landowners' preferences for policy packages combining measures with financial support, technical advice or simplified procedures. The results will inform a backcasting process to identify feasible implementation pathways for private land across Swiss cities.
