The WSL-Eawag Biodiversity Center is pleased to announce a three-day workshop on advanced time series analysis for inference and forecasting using empirical dynamic modelling.
This workshop aims to bring together participants interested in detecting causal relationships between species and abiotic drivers without assuming a fixed model structure, and forecasting how populations, communities or species interactions will respond to change. Applicants should have basic familiarity with dynamical systems, nonparametric regression, multivariable calculus, and linear algebra.
Instructors ¶
Prof. Stephan Munch and Dr. Tanya Rogers from UC Santa Cruz (USA ) will be our special guest-instructors.
Program ¶
About 60% of the time is spent on lecturing and 40% on hands-on exercises with coding in R.

This workshop is open to all staff members from Eawag and WSL.
Participation is free of charge, although you will need to cover the costs of travelling, meals and accommodation yourself.
