Diversity & Inclusion ¶
The research world thrives on competence, creativity and the active participation of diverse individuals and groups. At WSL you will find people of all genders, ages and professional and cultural backgrounds, people with their own individual relationship concepts, and people with disabilities. Their differences are a source of innovation, inspiration and outstanding accomplishments. The role of our WSL Diversity & Inclusion office is to ensure that everyone’s qualities and talents are appreciated in an atmosphere of respect and fair play.
The WSL Diversity & Inclusion Unit promotes the development of a culture of respect and fairness in which all employees can reach their full potential. To this end, it has developed an Diversity, Equality and Inclusion (DEI) Action Plan2025–2028 based on the DEI strategy of the ETH Domain2024–2028.
As women in science are underrepresented in senior positions, WSL supports them on their career path through targeted programmes. In addition, the DEI Action Plan 2025–2028 includes further measures on topics such as equality-oriented recruitment, work-life balance, and mental health. You can find more information in the DEI Action Plan 2025–2028 and on the project pages below.
Projects ¶
We promote diversity and inclusion at the workplace through various measures, some of which are centrally coordinated, while others are initiated by the employees themselves. Click on the topics to learn more about the great variety of programs at WSL.
