My research interests lie in finding out how forests should be managed sustainably that they can continue to provide economic, social and ecological services in the face of future uncertainties (climate change, disturbances, increasing societal demands). For this purpose, I use various methods from forest planning, e.g. forest growth simulations, multi-criteria decision-making methods, indicators for assessing ecosystem services and biodiversity, and multi-objective optimization methods.
